Ascension Community Theatre continues to grow as a viable arts opportunity in the Ascension/ Baton Rouge area. Located in Gonzales, Louisiana, Ascension Parish’s only nonprofit theatre company affirms the traditions of family and home-grown talent while educating, challenging, and entertaining the community at large, one show at a time. ACT is run by an all-volunteer-based Board of Directors dedicated to continuing to produce quality theatre for everyone!
The mission of ACT is to enrich the cultural environment and quality of life in Ascension Parish and the surrounding area by presenting theatrical stage productions that: 1) educate, challenge and entertain audiences; 2) provide opportunities for citizens to share and develop performance, stage craft and theatrical support skills in a mutually supportive and positive environment; and 3) engender interest and develop appreciation for theatre arts and crafts by a diverse population through participation as audience members, performers, technicians, craftsmen, and volunteers.
