Located on-site of the Baton Rouge Airport, Helix Aviation Academy is a one-of-a-kind public school focused on preparing students to excel in the limitless world of aviation careers, including flight, aeronautical engineering, aircraft technology, and cyber technology.

Through exposure to a multitude of aviation professionals and unique, hands-on and virtual reality learning, Helix Aviation is uniquely situated to put students on a fast track to a variety of aviation career paths and opportunities. Aviation careers open up opportunities across the globe, and it’s our mission to equip students to successfully pursue them by utilizing local assets and a nationally renowned curriculum. We’ve partnered with Baton Rouge Community College and Garver, a national engineering firm which specializes in aviation and more, to help shape our program and offer our students a world-class experience.

Helix Aviation Academy opened with a sixth-grade class for the 2021-2022 school year at the North Baton Rouge campus. In the near future, the school plans to offer a full K-12 experience. It now serves grades 6-8, k & 1, and 9th grade.

Helix Aviation Career Tracks
Helix Aviation offers career tracks tailored to specific aviation professions. Each track offers virtual reality and simulation experiences, regular interactions with industry professionals, relevant extracurricular clubs, and more. Our career tracks include:
