Gordon McKernan is a Louisiana personal injury attorney and the founder of Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys. McKernan was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he graduated from U-High in 1984. After completing his primary education, McKernan pursued his higher studies at Louisiana State University (LSU) and earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1988. He continued his education at Loyola University in New Orleans, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1992.

Following his graduation from law school, McKernan joined his father’s law firm, McKernan Law Firm, where he honed his legal skills and gained invaluable experience. In 2009, he assumed leadership of the firm, which has since been renamed Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys. Under McKernan’s stewardship, Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys has expanded to become one of the largest and most successful law firms in the region. With over 200 employees, including 50+ attorneys, and 12 office locations, the firm continues to provide exceptional legal representation to clients across Louisiana.

Growing up, McKernan’s family instilled in him the values of hard work, determination, and resilience. These qualities shaped his future endeavors and contributed to his remarkable success in the legal field. As the owner of Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, his law firm upholds these same values of hard work, determination, and resilience in its tireless pursuit of justice and unwavering dedication to its clients.

McKernan practices law in all Louisiana Courts, Mississippi Courts, and Texas State Courts and has been involved in a wide variety of personal injury claims, including 18-wheeler accidents, car wrecks, drunk driving accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, vehicle rollovers, offshore and maritime cases, wrongful death cases, and personal injury cases involving injuries such as brain injuries, amputations, fractures, burns, and various disk injuries. McKernan has represented thousands of clients throughout the state of Louisiana and has personally handled over 40 cases with a verdict value exceeding $1,000,000.

As a testament to his legal expertise and dedication to his clients, McKernan has received numerous accolades and awards throughout his career. Beyond his professional and philanthropic endeavors, McKernan is a family man. In 1991, he married his high school sweetheart, Shannon Field McKernan, and together they have been blessed with four children: Riley, Meredith, Charlotte, and John Gordon. He values spending time with his loved ones and enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, golfing, fishing, and hunting.
